Good Morning, Miss Bliss is a precursor to the Saved by the Bell series. The series aired from December 7, 1988 until March 18, 1989 on NBC and Disney channel to focus around the life of Carrie Bliss and her eighth-grade students, Zack Morris, Lisa Turtle, Samuel Powers, Mikey Gonzales and Nicole Coleman.
The series is considered canon in relation to the characters of Saved by the Bell's history but does not factor into the show or its sequels.

Trivia[]
- Good Morning Miss Bliss originally took place in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her class was much different in the Disney pilot. After NBC took over, they changed the location of John F Kennedy Junior High School from Indianapolis to the fiction Bayside suburbs of Los Angeles, CA.
- The only character that was maintained from the original Disney pilot was Nicole Coleman who served as a mature foil to her classmates. Her other classmates included Bradley Britton, Wendy Davis, Lonnie Maple, George Winslow, Charlie Davis, twins: Janet and Steven Hillhurst and Laurie Elliott.
- Zack, Lisa and Screech were retooled from Adam Moncrief(Brian Austin Green), Bobby Wilson(Jaleel White) and Michael Thompson(Jonathon Brandis). Like Zack, Lisa and Screech, the three boys are childhood best friends.
- Adam was very studious and serious as a student. Zack was a class clown and at times very irresponsible with his studies. He later matures during his time at Bayside High in Saved By the Bell.
- Bobby is rich and is ahead of the fashion trends like Lisa. However, Bobby is very mature for his age, while Lisa acts like a snob. She wouldn't gain maturity until the 3rd and 4th season of Saved by the Bell
- Michael is smart and a good student, albeit not as awkward as Screech.
- Mikey Gonzales is implied to be A.C. Slater's cousin and was supposed to appear in Saved By The Bell, but was dropped at the last second.
- Nikki was also supposed to appear in Saved by the Bell and be a feminist, but she was replaced by Jessie Spano.
- Richard Belding originally had an older brother named Gerald whom was often incompetent with his job and causing Miss Bliss stress with his immature behavior. He was supposed to fly to Indianapolis to confront Gerald for his immaturity.
- After NBC took over, Gerald's personality merged with that of Richard(albeit maintaining his responsible and mature traits) and later their younger brother, Rod Belding.
